3.11.2 Selecting base pairs from the dot plot

When the pointer is placed over the dot plot, crosshairs appear. Base pairs can be selected from the dot plot by placing the cross hairs over the desired point and pressing the middle or left mouse button. The historical ``coordinates'' of the selected base pair will appear in the dot plot on the line beginning with ``(i,j) basepair ='', and the energy of the optimal structure containing that base pair will be displayed on the following line: ``(i,j) score =''. The program will optimize base pair selection by searching the 8 points surrounding the selected point, and using the base pair with the minimum energy. This is not necessarily the exact point picked.
